Stop Bed Wetting With Homeopathy

I have been reading up on bed wetting, because a follower of my blog named Claire, asked me to. She reached out to me  because she had an 11 year old daughter who still wet the bed, and the alarm clock in the middle of the night (the conventional way of ‘training’ the bladder) did not work.

I remember as a little girl, I wet the bed sometimes and it was most embarrassing, especially if I had been sleeping over at a friends or family member.  I only wet the bed occasionally however Claire’s daughter wets every night. Most kids achieve bladder control by the age of 3-6 years old or so and stop wetting at night, but about 15% don’t, this little girl being one of them.

Even if a child may ‘outgrow’ it, bedwetting, also known as secondary enuresis, may return later in adolescence or even adulthood. This condition is most likely a symptom of psychological stress, although physiological causes, such as bladder infection, should not be ruled out. In general, the causes of bedwetting are related to anxiety, life stress, and possibly trauma, both inside and outside the home. It is also interesting to note that bedwetting often runs in families.

The conventinal ways to treat bedwetting are

  • alarm clock set for middle of night- wake the child to get up and go to the
    bathroom before she wets
  • limit liquids at night- and also have the child go potty before bed
  • medication- there are a variety available, but of course come with risk and drawbacks
  • psycho-therapy

In regards to medications, they usually work while the child is taking them, but once they’re stopped the bedwetting typically starts again. And the medicines can have side effects. Among the bedwetting treatment options are desmopressin (DDAVP), a synthetic copy of a body chemical that controls urine production, given at bedtime. It’s available in tablets and nasal spray forms, but the nasal spray is no longer indicated for primary bedwetting treatment, according to an alert issued by the FDA in late 2007. The agency cites risks of the nasal spray causing low blood sodium levels, in turn possibly leading to seizures and death. Another medication option is imipramine (Tofranil, Tofranil-PM), an antidepressant that may work by reducing urine production, affecting the amount of time a child can hold urine in the bladder, or other ways.

This mom did not opt for medication, and neither the limiting of liquids at night, nor middle of the night alarm were alleviating the bedwetting, so she took a leap of faith and reached out to me after following my blog for several months, and partnered with me.

We started the case by Claire sending me a picture of her daughter (a beautiful child named Nicole) which I promptly printed and set on the decagon to ‘charge’ it, and had placed my pendulum on top for good bio-resonance. After an hour or so I picked up the picture and held it, and dowsed for the most beneficial remedy for Nicole’s bedwetting condition using Ruggerio’s 151 remedy list. My pendulum pointed to Arcenicum album, which I cross confirmed several times. I immediately began reading about Arcenicum and found it to be one of many remedies used for bedwetting, always very excited when my remedy selections seem spot on. I called Claire, who lived several thousand miles away in the northwest and by now had spoken to by phone many times, and told her I had selected a remedy. Now comes her part…

First – materials Claire would need

  • salt water (make your own with salt and water!)
  • white paper
  • black ink pen
  • a decagon (can print one off the internet, or here’s one)
  • a crystal glass with a flat bottom

Now, to potentize

  • using a small piece of the white paper and the black pen, write ARCENICUM ALBUM 30C, all in capital letters
  • dip the written words into the salt water and let the paper dry
  • place the dry paper in the center of the decagon, in an area with good light
  • fill the crystal glass with spring or distilled water and put directly on top the dry paper
  • let sit 2 hours  and your Arcenicum album will be ready

Though it may take years to become a skilled surgeon or a world class ballerina or linguist, anyone can potentize with total perfection, on the very first shot, and every time there after. (Remember this remedy was chosen only for this particular child- not necessarily for every child that wets the bed.)

Adminstering the remedy

  • give Nicole one teaspoon of the Arcenicum remedy water once a day, for 3 days
  • if she asked you what it is, tell her it is prayer water
  • do nothing different what-so-ever and do not use the night time alarm clock any more

Claire gathered her materials and set to potentizing- A babe in the woods out to make miracles. Whatever she told her daughter the Arcenicum water was, I am not sure, but I can tell you this-

Nicole has had 6 consecutive dry nights and is planning a long awaited sleep-over with friends. This truly is life-changing stuff!

           Hats off to Claire

I have never heard of potentizing and think it is very interesting. I can’t wait to try it. However, I had a bed wetter daughter and have several bed wetters in my extended family. It is hereditary….has really nothing to do with psychological causes, drinking before bed, or trauma inside the home. What we know about bedwetting from our neurologist is that it comes from a sleep disorder which runs in our family. A person who wets the bed stays in the rem sleep too long and can’t get out of it to get up and go to the bathroom. It only gets better when the chemicals and hormones in the brain mature. Your remedy must have addressed that.

Regardless of the cause (trauma, hereditary, etc) that does not preclude homeopathy from gently reminding your body to wake up and use the toilet. I know it seems remarkable that I could not only pick a remedy that works, but that it could be made from scratch from water and salt, and a curative in just 1 dose, although about 3 or 4 does in all, were given. This can be an interesting experiment for you and your family- keep me posted if you take it any further.
